Navisite Turned Away a Web Hoster Seeking Server

OK, so it turns out that someone else had the same idea -- show up at Navisite's headquarters to retrieve their servers, but Navisite wouldn't let the guy in. That was the word in one of Navisite's many conference calls today, but Navisite personnel are no longer participating in these calls.

In fact, our emails and phone calls have gone unreturned over the past day.

I'm going to call Navisite to let them know I'm coming to Andover to copy our data off the servers (as it turns out, the servers don't technically belong to us.) I'll let you know what they say.

Update: Navisite hung up on me! I called to let someone at the company know we would be showing up in Andover to copy our data off the servers and was transferred to technical support. When I attempted to explain to the man who answered the phone that we are coming to Andover and don't expect to be turned away, he said that Navisite is opening up a new bridge at 1:00 pm and that we should join this conference call instead. When I explained that we had been on these conference calls since Sunday to no avail, he again tried to persuade me to join a conference call. When I interrupted him, he said "let me finish my damn sentence." I asked his name. He hung up on me.

So, it looks like this is really going to happen. We're going to Andover. In true Michael Moore fashion, I'll bring a webcam and post the results here. Hey, I got nothing else to do.

I rely completely on the internet for Marketing for my clinic as well as the Travel Medicine web site. Incompetence is an understatement about how Navisite and how the migration of servers should have been handled . Not only that they are dumping all angry callers to their susidiary in India?? I am seriously considering filing for a law suit.

Well, you've made it on the front page of at least one tech site -- DSLreports.com/Broadbandreports.com -- http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/Navisite-Outage-89170

Cynthia, I'm the wife of one of the extremely stressed out resellers. Despite reports by some who have had intermittent service, we have not seen any of our sites return since they went off-line Saturday. He has barely slept since this happened, staying up because they schedule another conference call at 2 am.

We are a 40 minute drive from Andover. We have a humble guest room for you should you decide to actually make the trip. This is a serious offer.

Cynthia, please suggest to people that they contact their local newspaper tech reporter and demand that they cover this. I emailed the Seattle PI reporter (Kathy Peterson - kpeterson@seattletimes.com). Do the same and turn up the heat on them.

Navisite is trying to act ignorant about the sites affected and downplay the extent of the damage. However, when they were bragging about acquiring Alabanza and Jupiter Hosting they proudly proclaimed 165,000 sites at Alabanza.
Here's a link to their press release:

Should probably look at it before they remember it's up and yank it down. They're good at getting stuff offline
