Like most people who blog on a more or less regular basis, my blogging has taken a back seat lately to other projects. One project that fits right in with IP Democracy is the Internet Video Policy Symposium, which my company is hosting in conjunction with Reed Business.
This is an experiment for both of us, but it's cool to work on something that's different. The Symposium is scheduled for March 19 in Washington, DC and it's aimed at government employees -- across the federal government, including the Congress, the FCC, the State Department, the White House, even the military.
Our goal is to provide a early-days look at the issues (net neutrality, copyright, network management) that we all believe will become the dominant issues in telecommunications law and regulation for years to come. Our goal is also to foster as balanced and rational a discussion that can be had in this town and so we've invited speakers that have something meaningful to say...no real agendas to push, no corporate spin, no issue advocacy.
At the same time, these speakers, almost all of whom are true experts in both how the government works as well as the issues surrounding the rise of Internet video, have some pretty interesting things to say and I'm proud to announce our initial line-up (check it out below and for detailed bios, check the website).
